PLEASE NOTE! effective January 31, 2008 you must now have a valid US PASSPORT in order to re-enter the United States from any sea or land port if your trip involves Mexico, Canada or the Caribbean. If you are arriving VIA air this requirement has taken effect as of 01 JAN 07.
These are new rules!
Prior to this regulation all you needed to re-enter the US was a valid government issued photographic identification card and a birth certificate.
