A bit about Toursource Travel:
Toursource Travel is owned and operated by Rick Smith and specializes in entertainment industry travel, specifically geared toward the touring artist and their entourage.
I have spent fifteen years on the road touring and working on the crew side of the business. I came to Nashville to open and operate the branch office of an entertainment trucking company. I have worked as a tour manager, Artist agent with an artist management firm, coach driver and finally, I ran the booking and management side of one of Nashville's established coach leasing companies.
As a tour manager, one of the key things I hated to deal with, was booking tour hotels. I preferred to book the hotels myself because I found that one of the significant problems I had to deal with when working with a travel agent, was a complete lack of understanding of several key components when it came to hotels.
These include:
1) I need to check-in early! And early to a tour is 10:00AM not noon and certainly not 3:00PM.
2) I need to park at a bare minimum 45 feet of bus (and possibly more if I have a trailer or more than one coach).
3) I need to be able to run a generator at the hotel.
4) My drivers need to sleep during the day so they can drive that night after the show. Therefore, I cannot have them in rooms next to the vending machines, the swimming pool, the housekeeper's office/laundry etc.
5) And most importantly I do not want to drive 20-30 minutes from the hotel to the venue.
After leaving the bus leasing business I decided (after speaking with the many tour managers I have come to know over the years) to enter the travel industry. I began by simply booking hotels and after a bit of time I obtained my own travel industry booking code and began to offer more and more services.
Toursource has since, evolved into a full service travel agency.

I am a Disney Destination Specialist; German Destination Specialist; Bavarian Ambassador and a Beaches and Sandals specialist. I work with a number of air consolidators and can obtain excellent air-fare rates.
Additionally, I have a number of vacation package providers with destinations in Europe being my specialty. Cruises available to the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Hawaii and Trans-Atlantic. or a well deserved post tour season vacation to just about anyplace else on the planet you want to go.
